ZeMP in association with Pegasus Green Mobility has vision to deploy more than 5,000 electric two wheelers in Chennai over the next two years which will help reduce significant carbon emission in last mile delivery segments.

Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, said “Nice to be part of the launch of subscription-based e-bike mobility services project today evening.

This has been undertaken by Greenifit and a number of partner organizations such as Parveen Travels, Hero Electric, Bguass, Etrio and also Institute of Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) as knowledge partner.

It is expected to go a great way in giving fillip to consumers by making a beginning with the emerchandise firms and their delivery persons benefitting from this subscription-based approach.

This service is being provided through the ZeMP (Zero Emission Mobility Platform) platform.”

With electric mobility as the prime focus area of the Government, the faster adoption of EVs is pdependent on availability of finance. With India registering more than 10 lakh EVs in past 2-3 years, there is a dearth of financing resources for buying electric two wheelers for last time deliveries.

ZeMP as an aggregator platform will help last mile deliveries partners to get easy subscription model to adopt electric two wheelers at convenience.

Mohammed Afzal, Chairman and Managing Director of Parveen Travels, said “since 2013 we have started working towards green mobility by planting saplings for each of the passengers travelling in our buses.

We started electric mobility services through Pegasus Green Mobility, and today we have partnered with Greenifit to enable electrification of last mile delivery in the state..!”
